We have available for hire the Hagglunds BV206 Articulated Tracked Carrier.
The Hagglunds has a unique design concept, featuring articulated steering and drive on all four track units making no obstacle of 60% slopes while remaining gentle on the terrain. The BV206 has a remarkably low ground bearing pressure of 1.74lbf/in2, that’s less than half the pressure exerted by a human foot! Our fleet of BV206’s all feature a dropside rear car with an ample load area capable of carrying 2 tons of materials while still leaving enough room in the front car for upto six people to travel in comfort completely enclosed from the elements.
The BV206 consists of two tracked cars, linked by a hydrostatic articulated mechanism. The front and rear cars are articulated in relation to each other, horizontally for steering and vertically to follow uneven terrain. The carrier benefits from a four-track drive system for maximum performance on rough terrain. Ground pressure is minimised due to a load distribution over four tracks.
Our BV‘s are powered by turbocharged 6 cylinder diesel engines attached to an automatic transmission. They also feature a drop side rear car mounted with a 2.2ton/metre crane.
The BV206 has been involved in transmission line refurbishment along the south coast, seismic survey operations in river estuaries, air crash recovery, reed spraying and environmental site clearance.
